Description et exigences

Reporting to the Director, Regulatory & Fixed Assets, the Regulatory and Technical Specialist collaborates with field management to meet Superior Propane and Federal/Provincial authority regulatory requirements. The Regulatory and Technical Specialist provides expertise to assist field management to resolve technical issues and provide training to educate and improve the region's overall regulatory and safety compliance.

 

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Province of British Columbia.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Collaborate with regional management, lead, and implement regulatory programs and provide guidance on compliance to company and regulatory standards. (i.e., B51, Pressure Vessel Integrity Management System, TDG, etc.)
  • Assist field employees to resolve technical issues and provide training to educate and improve the region's overall regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Conduct inspections and audits, and champion a safe working environment.
  • Review certificates of inspections (COI) and/or regulatory issues with management for action and follow-up.
  • Prepare and distribute Market reviews and field audits detailing the compliance status with relevant regulatory authorities and include a detailed corrective action plan where required.
  • Be the primary point of contact for the region with relevant government regulatory bodies within that jurisdiction. Continue working to build positive relationships with all authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) and employee groups.
  • Assist and direct, as required, in collaboration with field personnel and the HSE Team on incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with the National HSE, Fleet, and Sales teams on a regular basis on workplace statistics, program development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Educate and advise employees, supervisors and managers on the interpretation, implementation, and consistent application of regulatory standards and codes to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Remain current on regulatory requirements and changes to ensure that the company is in compliance.  Collaborate with the internal regulatory and technical specialist team.
  • Provide oversight to emergency response incidents.
  • Represent Superior Propane on various Regulatory Associations.
  • Up to 50% travel throughout British Columbia and the Territories is required.

 

What you bring:

 

  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in a gas related technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Class B gasfitter ticket required.
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial regulatory codes.
  • Intermediate level computer knowledge, especially with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Windows.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to collaborate with customers and regulatory authorities in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract.

 

Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year.
