Reporting directly to the Market or Field Operations Manager, the Utility II is a multi-faceted role that will respond to the changing needs of the territory and is responsible for:  Delivering, loading and unloading propane into the bulk truck and delivering the product to end use containers (Driver I); and

Delivering, loading and unloading tanks on to the crane truck and delivering and picking up from customer locations. Maintaining the territories yard, facility, assets and inventory (Plant); and Coordinating and completing general administrative duties.

Maintain the territory yard facility inventory and equipment, ensuring the equipment is adequate.

What you’ll do: 

 

  • Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process.
  • Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane tanks and containers for customers using boom truck and cranes. 
  • Leverage technology by utilizing the On Board Truck Computers (OBTC) to:
    • Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing
    • Accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered
    • Accurately complete and submit DTR
  • Repair, test, evacuate, fill and paint cylinders and tanks, as well as risers meters and hoses for a clean and professional presentation when installed at the customer’s site. Conduct propane quality tests practicing safe work habits.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly yard ensuring that tanks and inventory are organized. Perform regular maintenance to the facility to minimize repairs and associated expenses ensuring it is maintained, cleaned and presents a professional image and is a safe work place.
  • Manage and control inventory, ensuring assets are accurately logged into or inventory within JDE EnterpriseOne. Coordinate shipping and receiving and unload the rail cars and trucks as needed. Assemble minor appliances as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate any administrative paperwork and documentation as needed.
  • Conduct and maintain the highest standard of safety in all activities and operations ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies and relevant regulations. This includes conducting and, if applicable documenting, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
  • Obtain their consent from Service and Delivery Coordinators/ Field Operations Manager and obtain a purchase order for approved work overtime. Submit hours worked, including overtime purchase orders, on a timely basis bi-weekly to the Field Operations Manager for approval.
  •  Provide exceptional customer service by promoting the company and its products and services positively and maintaining good customer relations. Seek and capitalize on sales opportunities as they arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What you bring:

 

  • High School completion
  • DZ driver endorsement minimum three (3) years experience.
  • Knowledge of B149 code an asset
  • TDG and WHMIS training and certification is an asset.
  • PGAC 100-1 Dispensing Product is an asset.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good computers skills for inventory management and working on board truck computers.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
  • 0-8 ton crane certification an asset.(Training can be provided to candidates without this certification)
